Privacy policy and consent to the processing of personal data for the "Global Conference on Everyday Life, Gender and Sexuality: Expanding Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science Perspectives (ELGS-OTOS)" organised by the Occupational Therapy programme, Study Courses Therapeutic Sciences, Department of Computer Science, Trier University of Applied Sciences.

1. DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF DATA PROCESSING

When the completed form is sent, the following personal data is collected and stored by the Department of Computer Science at Trier University of Applied Sciences:

  • Salutation
  • Preferred pronouns
  • Surname, first name
  • Email address
  • Country
  • Main occupation
  • Profession
  • Consent to become a member of the International Network on Sexualities and Genders within Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science (SexGen-OTOS) and express consent to the forwarding of the following data to SexGen-OTOS for the stated purpose: surname, first name and email address.

2. PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING

The temporary storage of the data mentioned under point 1. serves the following purpose:

  • Sending of information (by email) on the "Global Conference on Everyday Life, Gender and Sexuality: Expanding Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science Perspectives (ELGS-OTOS)",
  • Anonymised statistical analysis of participants by pronoun, country, main occupation and profession,
  • Forwarding of first name, surname and email address to the SexGen-OTOS network (with your consent).

The request for salutations and preferred pronouns serves to ensure gender-sensitive communication with conference participants.

The collection of data on preferred pronouns also serves to establish the diversity of the groups of people attending the conference in order to be able to offer events with themes appropriate to various target groups in the future.

The purpose of collecting the email address is to communicate with the conference participants, in this case to send emails. Emails are sent to the email address provided.

The purpose of collecting data on country, main occupation and profession is to establish which groups of people from which regions take part in the conference and how other groups of people can be addressed in future in order to ensure that the event is as inclusive as possible.

Conference participants have the option of having their data deleted at any time.

The item regarding potential membership of the SexGen-OTOS network serves to increase awareness of the network and attract new members to the network.

3. DURATION OF STORAGE

The personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. The data will also be blocked or deleted at the latest when a legally prescribed storage period expires.

  • In the event that consent to become a member of SexGen-OTOS is not given, the storage period for the above-mentioned data shall be no longer than 1 year. Earlier deletion of the data is possible. For this purpose, an email must be sent from the stored email address to elgs-otos(at)hochschule-trier.de.
  • In the event that consent to become a member of SexGen-OTOS is given, the storage period for the above-mentioned data shall be a maximum of 3 years. Earlier deletion of the data is possible. For this purpose, please send an email from the stored email address to elgs-otos(at)hochschule-trier.de.

4. FORWARDING OF DATA

The above personal data will only be forwarded within the Department of Computer Science to the member of staff responsible.

Selected personal data (surname, first name, email address) will be forwarded to the coordinating body of the SexGen-OTOS network if you have given your consent to become a member of the SexGen-OTOS network.
