Prof. Diewald ist Leiter des In-Instituts LaROS (Labor für Radartechnologie und optische Systeme) des Fachbereiches Technik der Hochschule Trier. Das Institut schließt die Fachgebiete Mikrowellentechnik, optische Systeme, digitale und analoge Schaltungstechnik und Signalverarbeitung zusammen und ermöglicht somit die applikationsnahe Forschung und Entwicklung.
