Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Voigt

Jens Voigt studied brewing and beverage technology at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan in Freising.

After graduating, he worked for Steinecker (now Krones AG) as a project engineer worldwide in the field of brewery plants and beverage machines.

While working, he completed his doctorate in 1993 with Professor Dr. Ludwig Narziß on the subject of "Technological Influence on Beer Foam ''. This was followed by a 2-year period at Doemens Teaching Institute, Gräfelfing as managing director.

He then worked as a key account manager at Huppmann, Kitzingen (now GEA Brewery Systems) and as managing director of the subsidiary Brewmaxx/Proleit in the field of plant control and MES systems.

This was followed by many years of research and teaching at the Chair of Process Engineering of Disperse Systems at the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan as a research associate and lecturer. During this time, he led many research projects in the field of beverage process engineering.

Mr. Voigt is a publicly appointed and sworn expert in the field of brewing and beverage technology. Through his work as an expert and consultant, he maintains constant contact with the international industry in this field.

In September 2012, he took over the professorship for Beverage Technology and Hygienic Design at the Trier University of Applied Sciences.

At the University of Nottingham, UK, Mr. Voigt is an honorary professor and lectures on brewing technology.

He is active in the international bodies:

• Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD), London, Board of Examiners

• Master Brewers Association of the Americas (MBAA), Minnepolis, Chair District Europe
