Beatrix Konermann, Prof. Dr. rer. nat, Biology Diploma, LL.M.
Prof. Beatrix Konermann studied microbiology at the University of Göttingen, where she obtained her doctorate at the Institute of Plant Breeding on "molecular biological studies on nitrogen efficiency in Brassica napus L.".
Her education was followed by many years in management positions at several accredited private and public laboratory service providers. Her work focused on microbiological and molecular biological testing of food, feed, water, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products and livestock as well as ecotoxicity testing. While working, Ms. Konermann gained a masters degree in business law at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld.
For many years, Ms. Konermann has been active in various microbiological committees, including the DIN working committee "Microbiology of the Food Chain" and represents DIN as a German expert at CEN and ISO.
Ms. Konermann accepted an appointment at the Trier University of Applied Science in May 2021. She heads the Department of Food Microbiology, Food Hygiene and Health and is responsible for the microbiology laboratory.
