There are numerous different internal and external funding opportunities for students and doctoral candidates. In the right-hand column you will find a comprehensive compilation of these offers for different target groups. Below you will also find various internal university offers specifically for female students/doctoral candidates and for students with family responsibilities.
The Scholarship Foundation of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate offers single parents and single pregnant students - independent of BAföG - support in financial emergencies. This help is intended to enable students to successfully complete their studies.
The decisive factor here is not excellent grades, but financial need. However, this should not be permanent. The scholarship will be paid out once per semester. To apply, you should submit a completed application form with all the necessary documents to the Equal Opportunities Officer or the Equal Opportunities Officer of your department (-> Persons). After reviewing all the documents, the Equal Opportunities Officer will draw up a statement on your emergency situation, which will be submitted to the Equal Opportunities Committee. The committee will then decide on the award and the amount of the payments on the basis of the statements.
The Equal Opportunities Committee will once again award a prize of 1,500€ for a final thesis in the winter semester.
Prerequisite: the final thesis of students at Trier University of Applied Sciences was graded 1.7 or better.
Students can submit their own work no more than once and no later than one year after successfully completing their studies. A special assessment by a professor is not required.
The following criteria are considered and evaluated when selecting the work:
• Grade of the thesis
• Degree program (gender distribution)
• Childcare
• Caring for relatives
• Gender equality as part of the thesis
The thesis must be submitted to the Central Equal Opportunities Officer, Prof. Dr. Rita Spatz, or the Equal Opportunities Office in digital or printed form by 28.02. together with proof of grade (e.g. grade transcript), any children (e.g. copy of birth certificate), any care (e.g. certificate from family doctor) and the degree certificate. In the case of a blocked thesis, a summary of the thesis is sufficient.
No evidence is required from the applicant for the criteria "Gender distribution in the degree program" and "Thesis on gender equality".
A solid financial basis enables you to study without worries. But not everyone has the necessary funds. Master's and Bachelor's degree courses leave less and less time for a part-time job. Therefore, in addition to BAföG and student loans, scholarships are another way of securing a living during your studies. It is a misconception that scholarships are only awarded to students with particularly good grades. Nationality, study phase, planned internship abroad, funding purpose or study subject are also equal selection criteria.
Information on scholarships is available on the university website or from the scholarship officers at Trier University of Applied Sciences (see boxes on the right) or from the Equal Opportunities Office.
