Strong in third-party funding and successful in research - that is Trier University of Applied Sciences. The university raised around 16.7 million euros in third-party funding in 2022. In order to continue to successfully participate in the funding programs of the federal government, the European Union, the state and the various foundations and to support researchers in the acquisition and administration of funding, the research department provides support.

EU programs

Trier University of Applied Sciences has many years of experience in applying for and implementing EU projects.

This experience was expanded through a successful application in the EU-Strategy-FH program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The successful START concept aims to make it easier for students and researchers at Trier University of Applied Sciences to get started and apply for EU programs. An EU research culture at all levels and advisory structures have been successfully established. With the START project, Trier University of Applied Sciences is also a member of the Germany-wide network FHnet beyond the project duration.

For advice on EU programs, the university's research officer is available as an "EU Research Officer" certified by the EU Office of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Federal, state and foundation programs

The federal government, the federal states, the German Research Foundation, foundations with various funding objectives - the research funding landscape knows many players not only in the European Union, but also in Germany. Trier University of Applied Sciences supports its research professors and employees across the campus in using the variety of funding opportunities for their own research activities. You receive

These are not only used as part of the teaching courses, but are also available for projects with industry: Trier University of Applied Sciences provides diverse knowledge and technology transfer with numerous cooperations in scientific studies and practical developments and thus offers an extensive range of services for cooperations. Last but not least, project and final theses provide an important contribution to practical cooperation with industry.
