International Young Researchers Chairs and Publications

International Young Researchers Chairs

To support young researchers in gaining experience in organizing academic conferences and joining the scientific community, the GIRO project provides funding for organizing an international chair or panel. PhD students can submit proposals for organizing a chair or panel with their professor/supervisor at international academic conferences in the three profile areas of Digitalization, Sustainability, and Health. Thus, they can get to know the different stages of the organisation of an academic conference: the thematic orientation of the chair, the announcement of a call for panels, and the implementation of a review process. In this way, doctoral candidates can present their research results in an international context and network with university, academic and practice partners.

Funding options:

  • travel expenses for one doctoral candidate and one professor
  • accommodation costs for a stay of 6 days (5 nights)
  • printing, advertising or public relations costs
  • funds for assistants, 1 assistant with an MA degree for 5 SWS for 3.5 months each
