a.i.m. rlp is responsible for the application for EU-projects, their realisation and their evaluation within the ERASMUS program. This includes a comprehensive support of students and graduates who are interested in doing an internship abroad. Leonardo-Contact helps to find placements for internships by offering contacts to businesses that have already had Erasmus interns as well as information on financing of placements abroad, support in accommodation seeking through passing on information of experiences of former students and general information on staying abroad. During the placements the a.i.m. rlp is point of contact for all organisational questions which includes negotiations with companies and corporations should any problems arise.

The public grants office offers advice on the public grants scheme in general as well as on conditions for a change of your field of study as well as termination of study or secondary studies. It also advises on updating applications for the income of married students or of the parents of the student, on graduation sponsorships and first applications of foreign students.

The library at the University of Applied Sciences Trier advises students, teaching staff and employees of the university on all questions concerning the library. It offers single or group training on topics like using the electronic card index, data bases, interlending, literature administration programs and academic research and writing skills. As “teaching library”, the university library is also taking on an important role in the search for high quality information sources. With the library introduction tours, the research trainings and online tutorials it supports studying, teaching, research and advances training. The electronic card index enables location-independent research within the media inventory as well as further services like access to personal user accounts and extensions.

The Career-Service offers students and graduates advice on all matters concerning career development as well as job offers from the job centres of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (German Federal Job Agency).
Apart from that the career service offers workshops on interdisciplinary key qualifications and, with the help of the company contact fair and the job exchange, creates links to companies for: internships, dissertations and jobs – on the regional, national and international level.

Students receive help on matters such as: information on available compulsory optional subject modules, examination time plans, modules description handbooks and examination regulations of all courses of the department as well as general information on course entry requirements, extent and content of courses and information on the location.
For alumni descriptions of attended lectures can be issued if required for continuing education.

Students who are faced with taxing situations or difficulties in personal matters and seek help can turn to the psycho-social support office. During the stated office hours Dipl-Psychologists Iris Lorenz and Nicole Arendt will give advice or make appointments for further counselling. The advice and support is free and subject to professional discretion.

Student administrative service (Studienservice)

You can find the central point of enquiry for all things concerning your studies at the University of Applied Sciences Trier on the campus Schneidershof. On the ground floor of building G you are welcomed by the staff of the student administrative service. In our office students, prospective students and applicants can find all relevant service offers in one place. This includes administrative services, registration services and general course guidance.
The student administrative service is comprised of three teams which each take care of specific courses (watch out for the colour coding). This means that students will have regular contact persons throughout their time of study. You can find important forms and information on current events and examination regulations on our website.

Responsibilities:

  • De-registration
    The revocation of the registration is carried out upon application (please be advised: a backdated de-registration is not possible!) Graduates will be de-registered automatically at the end of the semester in which they have concluded their studies.
  • Re-Registration
    By re-registering the student declares his intention to continue his course in the coming semester.
     
  • Student ID
    The student ID has to be picked up personally at the student administrative offices. Your ID is also your semester ticket for train and bus services. The loss of your ID should be reported to the student administrative service immediately. A replacement can be applied for in return for administrative fee.
  • Suspension
    Students, who for important reasons cannot participate in their designated courses, can be suspended on request. An application for suspension must be handed in before the cut-off period of registration has come to an end.
  • Exam matters
    The registration service offers advice on all matters concerning exams (registration, de-registration, repeated exams, etc.), information on examination regulations, acceptance of recognition applications (first mandatory internship and advanced internship, grades, work placement), acceptance of sick notes, acceptance of applications to the examination boards, advice on planed internal change of course, issuing of certificates of non-objection when changing universities, de-registration of graduates, administration of grades on the student administrative system QIS/POS including counting of attempted exams and issuing of notification and issuing of graduation certificates.
    The responsibilities of the staff are divided by courses.
  • Recognition of grades
    If you have achieved grades at a national or foreign university, you can apply for recognition of those grades. On our homepage you can find a description of the recognition process as well as a list of contact persons.
