HAW.International: Successfully Shaping Transitions

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The project "Trier University of Applied Sciences International: Successfully Shaping Transitions", which will receive funding of almost 500,000 euros between 2022 and 2023, aims to improve the academic and professional success of international and German students and doctoral candidates. They should be prepared in the best possible way for the (inter)national job and research market in the Greater Region and beyond. To this end, existing offers in cooperation with the departments and service facilities of Trier University of Applied Sciences for target group-specific information, advice and support along the various phases of the student/dissertation journey are bundled, optimized and supplemented.

FOCUS OUR PROJECT GOALS

Transition in: Aligning the study entry phase with the needs of international students.
Transition through: Establishment of a cross-university Center for Language and Intercultural Communication and development of an official language policy.
Transition through: strengthening the social integration of international students in the local community as well as the civic engagement of all students through the establishment of service-learning projects and the implementation of international student conferences.
Transition out: Development of a portfolio of consulting, networking and workshop offers to support students and PhD students in their transition to the (inter)national job and science market.
