International sustainability projects

Within the framework of the project, nine international SDG projects will be realized in the blended mobility format, combining virtual project work with short-term physical stays abroad. In transnational projects with foreign partner universities from France, Luxembourg, Greece, Croatia, Portugal, Great Britain, Israel, Jordan and Rwanda, students work in internationally composed teams on a real sustainability challenge of a practical partner.

Sustainable Tourism 4 the Region

Using the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park as an example, students from Trier University of Applied Sciences are working with students from partner universities in Israel and Croatia to develop holistic concepts for sustainable tourism that harmonize ecological, social and economic sustainability goals.

Sustainable Fashion

During the SDG project of the Fashion Design Department, three international teams of students from Trier University of Applied Sciences and partner universities in England, the Netherlands and Portugal developed solutions for three challenges in the field of product development, communication and business models of the practice partner C&A.

Social Entrepreneurship in the Greater Region

International sustainability project at the main campus coordinated y Prof. Dr. Udo Burchard and Prof. Dr. Jan-Thomas Bachmann. The aim of the project was the development of social innovations for the Greater Region, together with the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg.

Sustainable Health Care

The project “Sustainable Health Care“ combines scientific work from machine learning, signal processing, and sensor technology with medical issues. The Central Hospital Luxembourg and the Attica Psychiatric Hospital“Dromokaitio“ in Greece were involved as clinical research partners and challenge providers.

Sustainable Construction in Developing Countries

Students from Trier University of Applied Sciences worked together with students from the partner university in Rwanda and trainees from the partner Handwerk HILFT to develop a concept and construct a multipurpose place for the Rwandan practice partner Centre de Jeunes de Gatenga.

 

Sustainable Software Development

The project “Sustainable Software Development“ was intended to realistically depict the cycle of sustainable software projects based on the division of labor. Students went from analysis and planning to implementation and delivery, thereby preparing students for the international job market.
