Prof. Dr. Christina Threuter

Professorship of art, design and cultural studies

The study of historical and contemporary art, design and architecture is of fundamental importance for students of the design department. Not only does it contribute to deepening the knowledge of this broad field, but it also promotes one's own design practice and helps to sound out one's own position. In my courses, in the diverse fields of visual and material culture, we are particularly concerned with questions of gaze, representation and presentation, and we ask about the specific social, cultural and technical conditions of production and reception.
