Interior designers are specialists in the planning and construction of interiors in an architectural context. Therefore, during the course of studies in interior design, knowledge, skills and abilities should be acquired which are necessary for the competent, creative and critical exercise of the profession as an interior designer. The good form of our immediate environment requires a special design competence. However, responsible design takes ecological, economic, cultural and social conditions into account. In order to understand and design interiors, interior designers have to deal with current constructions, technologies and materials in a permanent learning process, in addition to the questions of meaning that determine design.
