About the International Buddy Program
The Buddy Program gives Trier and international students the opportunity to connect with each other. Students from Trier can support international students as buddies at the start of their studies and welcome them to Trier. The buddies work on a voluntary basis and can take part in activities with their international buddy partners in order to get to know each other better as a group.
How international students benefit

Benefit from the exchange of experiences with others and receive support in overcoming typical challenges that international students face at the beginning of their studies.
How Trier students benefit
You will receive a certificate of participation from the International Office for your social and intercultural commitment. We also offer you the opportunity to take part in interesting activities and excursions. The program also gives you the opportunity to practice your language skills, acquire intercultural competence, and meet interesting people. You will receive support from us at the International Office.
Your tasks as a Trier Buddy
As a buddy, you are responsible for supporting one or more new arrivals from abroad. You should:
How do I document my participation in the program?
You will receive a form from us in which you can enter all the activities you have taken part in (see download box on the right). Events offered by us will be stamped by the International Office on your form. You are also welcome to write a report with photos to motivate future buddies.
