W2-Professorship Computer Engineering

Around 6,500 young people study and conduct research in various attractive degree programs at Trier University of Applied Sciences. The Department of Computer Science at the main campus in Trier has the following vacancy to be filled as soon as possible:

W2-Professorship Computer Engineering

 

We are looking for a dedicated team player with a university degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field with proven knowledge and practical experience in Computer Engineering.

The future post holder should give the subject area a special profile. Furthermore, special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in several of the following areas are expected:

  • Parallel and Distributed Computer and Network Architectures
  • Hardware-oriented Software Development
  • Hardware/Software Co-Design
  • Reconfigurable Hardware
  • Neuromorphic Computing
  • Cyberphysical Systems
  • Edge- und Fog-Computing
  • Electronic Design Automation and Test
  • Quantum Informatics and its Applications
  • Green Computing and Energy-efficient Systems
  • Security Aspects in Hardware and System-related Software

The future post holder should represent the subject area in teaching and applied research. The duties will also include giving basic courses in computer science and participating in the academic self-administration of the university. Furthermore, a willingness to develop and expand research and transfer activities as well as commitment to the further development of the degree programs of the Department of Computer Science is expected. Courses are to be offered in German, and, if required, also in English.
