The following position is available in the Department of Environmental Economics / Environmental Law as of the next possible date:
W2 professorship for the field of „Energy Law and Climate Protection Law“
The tasks of the professorship include teaching in German in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in the field of "Business and Environmental Law" and in other degree programs of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld. Furthermore, the professor will contribute to the profile of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld in research and teaching in her or his field of specialisation.
Well-founded theoretical knowledge and several years of practical experience in the fields of energy law and climate protection law, which must be represented in teaching, are expected. The law of renewable energies and energy contract law are also part of the teaching programme. Practical knowledge of the energy market is an advantage.
Applicants are also expected to conduct lectures in English (in particular in the upcoming ‘Sustainable Business and Law’ degree programme) and to support the international orientation of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld.
In addition to a high level of commitment to teaching, participation in the academic self-administration of the university is expected. We offer and expect co-operation and engagement in our team. In addition to the general requirements under civil service law, the minimum requirements for employment are:
1. A successfully completed university degree in law,
2. Pedagogical aptitude, which is usually demonstrated by experience in teaching, training or appropriate further training in higher education didactics,
3. Special aptitude for academic work, which is usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate, and
4. In addition, special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of relevant professional practice, of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector.
The successful applicant will be appointed as a civil servant for life if she or he meets the relevant legal requirements.
