W2-Professorship for Quality Assurance in Pharmaceutical Technology

The following position is available in the Department of Environmental Planning/Environmental Technology at the earliest possible date:

                                                                        Quality Assurance in Pharmaceutical Technology


The future position holder will be responsible for ensuring and expanding the range of courses offered by the Department of Environmental Planning/Environmental Technology (UPUT) for the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the aforementioned field.

The applicant is expected to have proven scientific competence and proven practical experience in the following area:

  • Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in the manufacture and quality control of drugs in the pharmaceutical industry.

Further knowledge and skills in at least two of the following fields

  • Drug development in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Dosage form theory
  • Pharmacology and toxicology
  • Pharmaceutical biology
  • Pharmaceutical technology

are appreciated.

Additionally, the willingness to establish a new research area in the field of biotechnology and pharmaceutical technology with a link to the "Biopharmaceutical Drug Manufacturing" degree program at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld is appreciated.

The applicant should have completed a degree in pharmacy or a related course of study that meets the above-mentioned requirements. Experience in the field of quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry and the existence of expertise in accordance with Section 15 of the German Medicines Act are required. Knowledge from working as a "Qualified Person" is an advantage. German language skills at level C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) are required. Additionally required is a willingness to conduct interdisciplinary basic courses in the field of environmental planning/technology and to teach courses in English.

Furthermore, willingness to engage in further professional and didactic training and to develop new teaching content as well as commitment to the self-administration of the university is required.

The recruitment requirements are the general requirements under employment law. All other employment requirements are set out in Section 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The appointment is made as a civil servant for life if the relevant legal requirements are met.
