Bachelor program

Master program

For admission to a Master's program, a Bachelor's certificate is required first. In addition, there may be restrictions in the Bachelor's degrees admitted, a minimum grade, aptitude tests or additionally required internships. The special admission requirements can be found on the information pages of the respective degree program.

Admission-restricted degree programmes:
Currently, only the Bachelor's degree course in Wirtschaftspsychologie is subject to admission restrictions (start only in the winter semester).

Summer semester
Application with German university entrance qualification (HZB):

Application with foreign HZB (uni assist):
15.12.

Winter semester
Application with German HZB:
15.07.
Application with foreign HZB (uni assist):
15.06.

The enrolment deadline will be announced in the letter of admission.

Procedure briefly summarized

Step 1: Registration and online application
For a successful application to Trier University of Applied Sciences, you must register with your personal data in our university application portal studis.hochschule-trier.de and apply for your desired degree program. An application is possible for several study programs. Please register only once. The application takes place exclusively online. You must upload the required documents in the application portal.

Step 2: Review of your documents and admission decision
The application documents uploaded by you will be checked by the Student Services. Missing documents will be requested as an upload via the application portal. The admission decision will be made available to you in your digital mailbox in the application portal. Rejections will be sent in writing by mail. You will receive information on the further course of the procedure with the letter of admission.

Step 3: Applying for the digital health insurance certificate
Please apply for a digital insurance certificate from your statutory health insurance provider. All you have to do is inform the health insurance company you have chosen that you would like to start your studies at Trier University. Please indicate the sender number H0002131. Step 4: Online enrollment
After you have received the admission notice and have digitally accepted the offer of admission, you must digitally complete the online enrollment process.

Step 5: Transfer semester fee
After completing online enrollment, you only need to transfer the semester fee as soon as possible, at the latest by the end of the enrollment period. The currently valid amount of the semester fee can be found on our homepage: https://www.hochschule-trier.de/hauptcampus/studium/bewerbung-zulassung/semesterbeitrag.
If the information on the purpose of payment is not clear and identifiable, automatic enrollment will not take place. You are then obliged to prove that the amount has been transferred. Please note that the transfer may take up to 3 days.
If you already have a student ID (chip card) from a previous study at Trier University, your total fee will be reduced by 23,00 Euro. If you withdraw your enrollment after the student ID (chip card) has been produced
- the fee for the chip card in the amount of € 23.00 can no longer be refunded.
- the fee for the withdrawal of the enrollment is 25,00 Euro. This will be deducted directly from the refund.

Step 6: Enrollment:
As soon as we have received the semester fee and all documents are complete, you will be enrolled. You will receive a status message about this in your application portal. There you can download your certificate of enrollment. You will also receive your study certificates and an information letter by mail.

To study at the Trier University of Applied Sciences, you will need a school certificate which enables direct access to higher education, according to the assessment proposals of the Central Office for Foreign Education (KMK).  

You can carry out a self-check of your HZB via "Anabin", the information system for the recognition of foreign educational certificates, which is provided by the KMK.  The database contains all the necessary information on the country-specific higher education entrance qualifications, education system and universities. The general student advisory service offers advice and orientation, if you are wondering, for example:

• if you want to study at all,
• whether the studies you are planning are the right ones and
• how you can prepare for this even before your studies,
• whether you can break off a course of study that you have already enrolled in, and
• on the possibility of changing courses of study.
