On 15 September, Campus Gestaltung invited all prospective students to the - for the first time purely virtual - information day. The six study programmes Architecture, Intermedia Design, Interior Design, Communication Design, Fashion Design as well as Gemstone and Jewellery were presented in the form of an entertaining talk show, moderated by student Bastian Franz. The student TV format "Campus-WG", which was launched in 2019, broadcast live from the Campus Gestaltung film studio on that day.

Student talk show in livestream with over 700 viewers
More than 700 pupils followed the live stream and were able to meet professors and students of the Campus Design of Trier University of Applied Sciences during the three-hour live show and gain a personal impression of campus life. During the show, viewers had the opportunity to ask all their questions about studying to the professors and students in the chat. In three discussion blocks of 50 minutes each, the courses of study were presented and similarities as well as differences were identified. This resulted in an interesting and entertaining dialogue between the professors and students of the different study programmes. The students reported on their personal experiences, and the students watching received first-hand tips, for example on the application procedure and on studying. "I particularly like the fact that we all work together here in a very familiar atmosphere and that the study programme is interdisciplinary, so that one often works on projects with students from other subjects. There is a very good sense of cohesion, everyone supports the other," says communication design student Michelle Geist.

The international orientation of the campus was also emphasised by all studio guests. This is particularly pronounced in Idar-Oberstein in the subject "Gemstone and Jewellery". Around 50 students from 28 countries work in this highly specialised course of study, "comparable to the precious stones that come to Idar-Oberstein from all over the world to be transformed into pieces of jewellery," says Prof. Theo Smeets. Studio guest Constanza Salinas, for example, came to Idar-Oberstein from Chile to study. "The study course Gemstone and Jewellery is unique in this form worldwide. That is why people from all over the world come to us, which makes studying very exciting. " says Prof. Theo Smeets.

Numerous students of Intermedia Design were involved in the elaborately produced live show. "Without their extraordinary commitment, the realisation of this unique format would not have been possible," says project manager Servet Ahmet Golbol, professor for film and narrative formats. The students were involved in the successful show production as cameramen, sound engineers or even prop men. Special thanks go to intermedia design student Philipp Köhn, who directed and produced the live show.  A recording of the live stream can be viewed on campus-gestaltung.de.
