"I take one step in the forest; I step on approximately 18 grams of soil; this soil contains 18 hundred to 180km of mycelium, if one stretches and tears it apart. What is mycelium? It’s an almost invisible underground network, a “connective tissue, the living seem by which much of the world is stitched into relation” as Merlin puts it so beautifully. In this thesis I will write about the connectedness and relatedness of things. About how we are more of ongoing processes, never complete, ever becoming vis-a-vis others and in relation to others. I will write about mycelium and fungi - using them as an archetype of connection - as well as exploring the human-mushroom-relation throughout history and its developments and outcomes."
