Our Indian partner university Hindustan is extremely active and successful in Formula Student. We want to support this team implementing state-of-the-art CAE tools. In an international workshop a new racing kart is to be developed digitally, then displayed in simulation and finally examined in a frontal crash.
This is the goal of a multicultural team of German and Indian students. A weekly crash simulation workshop sponsored by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) offers participating students a basic introduction to the simulation programs LS-DYNA and HyperMesh. Not only the handling of the software, but also the critical and scientific evaluation of the simulation results are central aspects of the workshop. In an accompanying tutorial, students can ask specific questions in order to work out solutions to problems together.
The project is supervised by a former student of the University of Applied Sciences Trier, who gained a lot of experience through his long lasting work as an assistant in the Institute of Automotive Engineering and as a simulation engineer for Porsche.
