ART WEAR shows contemporary jewellery by 24 Dutch jewellery designers, selected by the Haarlem Jewellery Collective. The relationship to the body is the unifying element in the exhibited works. To express this, photographs of the jewellery worn by artists from other disciplines have been made especially for this exhibition.
The Haarlems Sieraad Collectief was founded in Haarlem, the Netherlands, in 2017. All members are active as artists and/or designers. Creativity, craftsmanship and professionalism unite the members of the collective. The aim of the collective is to develop the creative climate for modern jewellery design and especially for 'author's jewellery'.
The opening will take place on
Thursday 23 June 2022, 6:30 pm CEST
at Villa Bengel and live on the Jakob Bengel Instagram channel, with a greeting by Peter Wenzel and an introduction by Prof. Theo Smeets.
Before the opening, students Campus Idar-Oberstein can learn more about the Haarles Collectief in an artist lecture at the Jakob Bengel industrial monument.
A catalogue has been published for the exhibition and can be purchased at the Industrial Monument Jakob Bengel for €15.00.
